2014 TCA Award Nominees Revealed

The Television Critics Association has announced the nominees for the 30th installment of the annual TCA Awards. Winners will be announced at the invitation-only ceremony, which takes place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on July 19, 2014.

The awards span across a variety of categories, networks and genres, honoring the best programming aired during the 2013-2014 season.

CBS has accumulated nine nominations — the highest of any network — for shows such as The Big Bang Theory, 60 Minutes and The Good Wife. HBO has eight programs nominated, FX has seven and Fox has six. Streaming service Netflix also received nominations for House of Cards and Orange is the New Black

“These nominations are generated by the TCA membership, and choosing the best in television is not an easy task. Not because good television is hard to find, but because there are so many deserving shows from which to choose,” said TCA President Scott D. Pierce.

TCA members also vote on the winners in each category, with Program of the Year serving as the award ceremony’s highest distinction. Breaking Bad, which won Program of the Year last year, is nominated again this year alongside Game of Thrones (HBO), The Good Wife (CBS), Orange is the New Black (Netflix) and True Detective (HBO).
