FX announced that the 10p, Tuesday, July 24 premiere of Damages will air commercial free, courtesy of Cadillac.
FX will also air a Damages marathon over Labor Day starting at 3 p.m.
Daniel Zelman, a Damages creator/executive producer, said his work on the series was partly inspired by several documentaries that explore corporate culture: The Smartest Guys in The Room, the film about the high-flying Enron days, and a Wal-Mart doc that illuminates the inner workings of the retail giant.
Said star Glenn Close who plays the unstoppable lawyer Patty Hewes:
“I had a wonderful time talking to high powered, female lawyers in N.Y. It’s a very high powered, male dominated world … I know [my character] has a lot of war stories. I don’t know yet enough about her yet to know where I have a commonality with her … You meet my son and my husband and this is a huge part of who this woman is, and that humanizes her and that’s where she’s most vulnerable…certainly in regard to her son.”
