Adjø, Tandberg Television!

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye: As of next Monday, Jan. 25, Tandberg Television will officially be made history by its parent, Ericsson (see Ericsson To Phase Out Tandberg Television Name).

Henceforth, Ericsson’s TV solutions and products will be found at www.ericsson.com/television and there will be a redirect from the existing Tandberg Television site (tanbergtv.com), according to Ericsson spokeswoman Mandira Mehra. Ericsson acquired Tandberg TV for $1.4 billion in 2007 after outbidding Arris.

The former Tandberg Television group will not have a separate group or division name, Mehra added: “We will be Ericsson. We are focusing on the one brand.”

“Tandberg Television” will join a number of other industry monikers that have gone gentle into that good night: Scientific Atlanta, General Instrument, C-COR and Antec, among others.
