Web Surfers Pedal to OLNTV.com

OLN’s Web site (www.olntv.com) is enjoying a tour de force during the Tour de France.

The official Tour de France Web site in the United States said page views were up more than 21% compared with last year, and viewed videos skyrocketed to 900,000 from 400,000.

The network’s online coverage complements the linear service, which is featuring more than 300 hours of coverage of the cycling event.

“In addition to our exceptional television coverage, the expansion of Tour coverage on our broadband channel enables cycling fans to connect to the experts and the race 24 hours a day,” OLN vice president of Internet strategy and development Brad Friedrich said in a prepared statement.

“Our solid on-air commentating team of Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen and Bob Roll are joined by additional cycling experts on OLNTV.com to give us unprecedented coverage of this year’s event, boosting site traffic for the network,” he added.

In related news, OLN will air an exclusive interview with American cyclist Floyd Landis' doctor and coach during its prime Tour de France coverage Monday at 8 p.m. (EST).

The segment will focus on Landis’ degenerative hip condition and his decision to have hip-replacement surgery following the race.
