Vyyo Hires Ex-Charter VP as CTO

Vyyo picked up another former Charter Communications tech executive, hiring David Feldman as chief technology officer.

Feldman, a former vice president of technology at Charter, was most recently with chip-maker Advanced Micro Devices, where he was a principal member of the technical staff.

In March, Vyyo hired former Charter CTO Wayne Davis as chief executive. Davis hired Feldman at Charter in 2003.

Feldman will be in charge of developing Vyyo’s spectrum-overlay equipment for coaxial cable networks, called UltraBand.

Prior to joining Charter, Feldman worked for six years at Denver-based Jones Intercable, which is now part of Comcast. He also worked at Nova-Net Communications (now part of Level 3 Communications), TRW’s Defense and Space Systems Group and cable-modem maker Phasecom.
