Video-Game World Series Gets Triple Network Coverage

Coverage of the first ever World Series of Video Games will be played on three different networks beginning this month.

Voom HD Networks’ GamePlay HD channel will air coverage of the regional tournaments leading up to the World Series of Video Games during the month of December, the company said. Additionally, throughout the month, fans can log onto the network’s Web site to watch streaming online video of GamePlay HD's WSVG coverage.

Broadcast network CBS Dec. 30 will air a one-hour special, They Got Game: Stars of the World Series of Video Games presented by Intel, which focuses on the personal stories of five competitive video gamers.

Finally, CSTV will air coverage of the World Series of Video Games finals in New York as part of a five-week series beginning Jan. 21, the network said. The five one-hour specials will feature players competing on such Microsoft Xbox video-console and Intel PC-based games as “Warcraft III: Frozen Throne,”“Halo 2” and “Project Gotham Racing 3.”
