VHI Classic Delivers Whole Lotta Zeppelin

VHI Classic tonight will serve up the TV premiere of the digitally re-mastered Led Zeppelin concert film The Song Remains The Same.

The movie, filmed during a trio of Led Zeppelin show at New York’s Madison Square Garden during the band’s 1973 North American tour, will bow Nov. 19 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT).

The two-hour telecast features Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and the late John Bonham performing "Rock and Roll," "Whole Lotta Love" and "Dazed and Confused," among others. VHI’s presentation comes a day before Warner Home Video releases Song in two-disc special and collector’s editions.

The re-mastered film, which premiered theatrically in 1976, now reflects all 15 songs on the set lists for the aforementioned shows, as Over The Hills and Far Away, Celebration Day, Misty Mountain Hop and The Ocean are now included. The DVD releases also include over 40 minutes of newly added features, including the original theatrical trailer, vintage TV footage and exclusive Led Zeppelin T-shirt.

In addition, Zeppelin fans can access VH1Classic.com to watch the band perform nine tunes, including Immigrant Song and Kashmir, which are part of the new "Mothership" CD that was released Nov. 13 on Atlantic/Rhino.

The Web site is also home to a sweepstakes for two tickets and a trip to London and the O2 Arena for the surviving members’ rescheduled Dec. 10 reunion show benefit in honor of Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died last year at the age of 83.
