Versus will help small system operators capitalize on the popularity of Whitetail deer hunting with an affiliate kit for member of the National Cable Television Cooperative that includes customizable Web pages, commercials and other collateral materials.
The co-promotion, which launches Oct. 22, provides system operators with elements such as a Web splash page, designed to help sell high-speed data subscriptions. At the page, consumers can link to Versus “Whitetail channel” for content such as clips of comedian Jeff Foxworthy, bow hunting tips and a user-generated “I hunted here” interactive Google map.
Participating systems will be provided with Bass Pro Shops gift certificates. That distribution will be based on subscriber count.
To celebrate the alliance with NCTC, the channel will host a hunting expedition for affiliates. The four-day, three-night hunting trip will include appearances by Versus talent such as Tred Barta, Bill Dance and Roland Martin.
The promotion lasts through Nov. 23.
