Verizon Posts DirecTV Subscriber Growth

Verizon Communications said Wednesday that more than 415,000 of its phone customers subscribe to a bundle that includes pay TV programming from DirecTV, including 66,000 subscribers who ordered DirecTV during the first quarter.

DirecTV and Verizon began marketing bundles of video, high-speed DSL Internet and telephone service in 2004.

Their cheapest triple-play package, which costs $90.93 monthly, includes DirecTV’s Total Choice programming package, unlimited phone calls and a 768 Kbps DSL connection.
