Verizon Pins WWE 24/7 Pact

Subscription-video-on-demand service WWE 24/7 will be added to Verizon Communications Inc.’s FiOS TV lineup following an agreement between the regional Bell operating company and World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., announced Tuesday.

Verizon launched FiOS TV Sept. 22 in Keller, Texas, and WWE 24/7 will be available there, as well as in future FiOS TV markets.

“We are pleased to offer this service in our FiOS TV markets to satisfy devoted WWE fans who are passionate about watching the wrestling action of their favorite superstars of yesterday and today," Verizon FiOS TV vice president of programming and marketing Terry Denson said in a prepared statement.

WWE vice president of affiliate sales Peter Clifford added, “Verizon has been a believer in the WWE 24/7 service from the very first time we sat down with them. We look forward to partnering with them to market the on-demand platform.”
