Verizon Communications Friday announced carriage deals with five networks for its upcoming Verizon FiOS TV service.
The regional Bell operating company reached programming-distribution agreements with Varsity TV, Gospel Music Channel, Soundtrack Channel, MavTV and GolTV.
The five new networks join NBC Universal Cable, Starz Entertainment Group LLC, Showtime Networks Inc., A&E Television Networks and Discovery Networks U.S. in the FiOS stable.
“We are pleased to add these networks to our growing lineup of quality programming," Verizon FiOS TV vice president of programming and marketing Terry Denson said in a prepared statement. "FiOS TV will connect our future customers to popular channels plus many newer networks that speak to their specific entertainment interests."
