Verizon, DirecTV Are California Dreaming

Verizon Communications Thursday began offering DirecTV Inc. direct-broadcast satellite programming at its Verizon Plus stores in California.

The move will allow Verizon customers to bundle local, regional and long-distance calling services; Internet access; and DirecTV.

“Now, California customers have a clear choice for digital-TV programming, voice and data communications," Verizon retail-markets group president Bob Ingalls said in a prepared statement.

“Sales of the package in the Northeast, Florida and Texas have been successful and are exceeding our expectations," he added. “We are confident that Californians will be taking advantage of the offer, as well.”
