USA Will Blitz NBC's Super Bowl XLIII Coverage With Post-Game Promo

With broadcast brethren NBC televising Super Bowl XLIII Sunday, USA Network has football fever.
Ten of the "characters welcome" network's characters will be featured in a promo on the Peacock following the big game, while three of the cable service's top shows are airing football-themed installments this week.
Talent from all seven of USA's original series will be showcased in a 60-second promo immediately after Super Bowl XLII from Tampa, according to network officials. The "Character Blitz" spot, featuring the likes of Tony Shalhoub (Monk), Debra Messing (The Starter Wife) and John Cenna (WWE), weaves the on-air talent into the daily life of a USA viewer.

Meanwhile, the Jan. 29 installment of Burn Notice at 10 p.m., entitled the "Hot Spot," centers on Michael (Jeffrey Donovan), Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) and Sam (Bruce Campbell) posing as a gang of ruthless car thieves to stop a thug who is threatening a local high school football star. Former Dallas Cowboy and Hall of Famer Michael Irvin makes a special guest appearance as the local football coach.

On Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. Shaloub suits up in "Mr. Monk Makes the Playoffs," as the obsessive-compulsive detective scores tickets to the biggest football game of the year, but he and Captain Stottlemeyer (Ted Levine) can't go inside until they figure out who tried to blow up a fan in the parking lot. NBC sportscaster and Super Bowl host Bob Costas stops by.
Immediately following on Psych, Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dule Hill) are drafted for duty on "Any Given Friday." In this episode, the duo sign up for training camp after the foot of a professional football kicker is discovered. Mykelti Williamson (Forest Gump) is a special guest star.
