USA Network Incentivized By 'Club Psych,'s Performance

USA Network is encouraged by fan participation in its "Characters Rewards" digital incentive program tied to original series Psych.
Launched in late July, "Club Psych" rewards fans for engaging in online activities, including watching videos, sharing content and reposting on Facebook and Twitter feeds.
Character Rewards provides users with points when they complete specific challenges and in return they can redeem the points for both show-branded merchandise and virtual goods.
Since its launch, Club Psych, whose enthusiasts are known as "Psychos," has amassed more than 30,000 registered users and accounts for a 30% lift in overall site traffic to the Psych vertical site, according to USA officials.
"In developing the program, we wanted to provide something to our fans for their unwavering loyalty to USA's originals," said USA Network vice president of digital Jesse Redniss in a statement. "Through Club Psych, we've seen our fans go from enthusiastic to rabid online evangelists or self-described "Psychos", spreading the word for Psych offerings and encouraging others to participate. You can't ask for a stronger metric for success than this type of overwhelming fan engagement."
Club Psych is the first of several show-specific Character Rewards initiatives USA plans to launch this year.
