TWC Debuts 'It Ain't Rocket Science' As Part Of Education Initiative

Time Warner Cable's NY1 local news channel will premiere an original 30-minute show on science and technology, It Ain't Rocket Science, which the operator also will make available on-demand across its footprint, as part of its pro-social Connect a Million Minds initiative.

Connect a Million Minds is TWC's five-year, $100 million philanthropic initiative aimed at addressing the U.S.'s declining proficiency in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

It Ain't Rocket Science, hosted by NY1 technology reporter Adam Balkin, will include segments on the FIRST robotics competition, a contagious cancer running rampant among the Tasmanian devil population, and National Geographic's Indiana Jones and the Adventures of Archaeology touring exhibit.

The show will debut on NY1 on Friday, June 24 at 9:30 p.m. ET with replays on Saturday, June 25 at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET; and Sunday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m. ET. Following the telecasts, It Ain't Rocket Science will be available on VOD for digital customers.
