TWC Adds Dominican Republic to Penny Plan

Tim Warner Cable has added the Dominican Republic to a Global Penny Phone Plan that offers rates as low as a penny-per-minute to more than 40 countries and “competitive international rates” for more than 200 countries.

The MSO noted that the Global Penny Phone Plan, which costs $2.95 per month and covers overseas landline phones and, in some nations, mobile phones as well, is based on the minutes used per month. TWC also offers an International OnePrice plan that gives customers 1,000 minutes each month for calls to 100 international destinations.

“Time Warner Cable’s Global Penny Phone Plan appeals to customers who want to keep in touch with loved ones overseas at an extremely affordable price,” said Jeff Lindsay, Time Warner Cable’s group VP and GM for phone, in a statement. “We’re happy to add the Dominican Republic to the plan, providing flexibility and low rates for customers who want to pay as they go.”

TWC ended the second quarter with 4.93 million residential voice subscribers.
