TV Guide Lists Two Promotions

Christy Tanner was promoted to vice president of marketing and online-network development for

Tanner joined the company one year ago as marketing director. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in helping to grow traffic and awareness of through a search-engine-optimization program, the implementation of e-mail newsletters TV Guide Daily Scoop and Ausiello Scoop and the addition of viral elements to the Web site. She also worked closely on many key cross-platform efforts including TV Guide magazine subscription promotions and TV Guide Network tune-in promotions.

Six months ago, Tanner took on the added responsibilities of overseeing four newly acquired Web sites: Jump the Shark,, and TVNow. Since that time, these sites have grown in both revenue and traffic.

Tanner reports to Paul Greenberg, general manager of in New York.

In other Gemstar-TV Guide International news, Gary Kleinmanwas promoted to VP and associate publisher for TV Guide magazine, from VP, national advertising director. During his six-year tenure at TV Guide, Kleinman has held various managerial and business development positions including overseeing all regional sales offices and overall advertising revenue.

Under his leadership, advertising-page growth increased 29% for the first half of the year versus the same period last year. Kleinman also assisted in identifying cross-platform prospects and sales efforts between TV Guide magazine, and TV Guide Network. He reports to Pete Haeffner, publisher of TV Guide in New York.
