TV Guide Broadband Strikes Deal With Comcast Portal

TV Guide Broadband, the digital video entertainment programming service launched one year ago by TV Guide Network, has signed a new distribution deal with Comcast’s portal site, officials said Tuesday.

TV Guide Broadband will also be one of the launch partners of Hulu, the Fox and NBC video joint venture, and is available on TVGuide.com

The broadband service is now alos being distributed on the Internet’s highest trafficked portals and online video sites – YouTube, AOL Video, Yahoo, Brightcove, Veoh, and Vuze.

In August, TV Guide Broadband reached its peak monthly usage with over two million impressions across all of its distribution partners. The most popular TV Guide Broadband content in August was for TV Guide Network’s reality series America’s Next Producer, which was supported with promotions on AOL Video, MSN, Yahoo and Veoh, and online sweepstakes with www.tvguide.com and MySpace.

TV Guide Broadband has also signed three new national advertising partners, and re-signed Keebler’s Cheez-It brand, one of its first advertising partners.

TV Guide Broadband is an advertising supported video service offering broadband users entertainment-focused video content, including TV Guide’s recommendations for the best shows, movies and music on TV, entertainment news, interviews with today’s favorite stars, behind-the-scenes of the hottest shows, and highlights from TV Guide Network’s programming such as Hollywood Red Carpet events.
