Time Warner Cable has rolled out Mobile Data Solutions Inc.’s “Advantex r7.4” mobile-work-force-management solution at its Rochester, N.Y., division.
The operator’s 220 field technicians there have scrapped their voice- and paper-based operation and are now using Advantex r7.4 to receive orders and job-status updates and to send job-completion information wirelessly over a Verizon Communications wireless network.
“Before Advantex, routing service orders used to take us 70 hours per week,” Time Warner director of operations Nancy Tirabassi said in a prepared statement. “Now we can complete the job in a couple of hours per day. We can route 2,000 plus orders in under 20 minutes with Advantex, and that translates to increased productivity, faster service and happier customers."
