Time Warner Launches HD Tier in N.Y.

Time Warner Cable’s New York City division said it will begin marketing an $8.95 monthly HDTV programming tier Nov. 4.
The package includes ESPN HD, INHD, INHD2, HDNet Movies and HDNet.
The system -- which encompasses Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and parts of northern New Jersey and Westchester County, N.Y. -- will also market a $15 monthly package that includes the HDTV programming and an HD digital-video recorder.
Subscribers who already have HD converters will be able to view the new channel additions free-of-charge until Nov. 30, Time Warner said.
