Tandberg Television launched what it called “the world's first professional multiformat MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AVC SD/HD decoder.”
The vendor said the decoder will enable network operators and broadcasters to deliver standard-definition and HD content from studio to studio and across networks to regional headends and affiliates.
Tandberg added that its “RX1290” can also be used for digital-satellite-newsgathering and digital-electronic-newsgathering applications.
