Synacor has hired Patrick Knorr, previously general manager of small Kansas cable operator Sunflower Broadband, as general manager of regional accounts for the company, a provider of Web portal and TV Everywhere technology and services.
Most recently Knorr was chief operating officer at The World Co., the parent company of Lawrence, Kan.-based Sunflower. He also previously served as chairman of the American Cable Association from 2006 to 2008, and has worked with CableLabs, the National Cable Television Cooperative and the Kansas Cable Telecommunications Association.
In 2010, Knology acquired Sunflower Broadband for $165 million. This year WideOpenWest bought Knology in a $1.5 billion cash deal.
Knorr was named one of Multichannel News' 40 Under 40 cable executives in 2006.
