Synacor Inc. said Millennium Digital Media is using its technology and content, launching Millennium’s “MyCableSpeed” portal to its customers in Washington, Oregon, Michigan and Maryland.
The portal is being offered to Millennium’s 35,000 high-speed-data subscribers, and it includes AmericanGreetings.com (www.americangreetings.com), B-Secure, Clever Island, CNN NewsPass, CNN QuickCast, Encyclopedia Britannica Online, NASCAR.com (www.nascar.com), Shockwave.com (www.shockwave.com) and weather.com (www.weather.com).
Millennium is using Synacor's “Portelus” platform to offer that content wrapped in premium packages.
In other content news, TV-over-Internet provider Akimbo Systems signed a deal with BBC Worldwide Americas for programming including Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisp, Porridge, Jane Eyre, Sense and Sensibility and Secrets of World War II.
