Spanish Premier League Stays on WorldSport HD

Voom HD Networks’ will remain the exclusive U.S. HDTV home of the Spanish Premier League under terms of a three-year deal announced Monday.

The pact includes live coverage of 38 games during each season through the 2008-09 campaign.

The league,known as La Liga, includes such powerhouse teams as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia and Atletico Madridwith superstars including Barcelona’s Ronaldinho and Real Madrid’s David Beckham and Fabio Cannavaro.

“We are passionate about bringing this elite league to American audiences with all of the excitement live HD coverage brings, and we have been gratified that the SPL games have attracted a loyal and steadily growing audience for WorldSport HD,” vice president of programming and development Mark DeAngelis said in a prepared statement.
