Interactive karaoke TV is coming to EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network.
The direct-broadcast satellite provider and Sound Choice said Thursday that they will bring the nation's first interactive karaoke TV channel to Dish's interactive-TV lineup.
The service -- available for $4.99 per month -- will initially provide more than 20 songs from two different music genres.
The Karaoke Channel by Sound Choice application was developed by OpenTV Corp.
“The Karaoke Channel by Sound Choice brings one of the most popular hobbies to the most comfortable place you can think of, your living room," Dish vice president of programming Susan Arnold said in a prepared statement.
