Showtime To Place Viewers Behind The Comedic Green Room Door

No, it's not a tribute to the late Marilyn Chambers. Rather, Showtime will give viewers a look at how comics interact backstage.
The premium network has ordered six half-hour episodes of a comedy series, tentatively titled Behind The Green Room Door, which is slated to bow in 2010.
Hosted by comedian Paul Provenza, the director and co-producer of the behind-the-scenes comedy documentary The Aristocrats, Behind The Green Room Door will present watchers a chance to witness the hilarious exchanges between comic legends who span several generations and for some, are meeting their own comedy idols for the first time.
Among the comedians scheduled to be featured: Jonathan Winters, Eddie Izzard, Roseanne Barr, Drew Carey, Robert Klein, Penn Jillette, Martin Mull, Tommy Smothers, Bob Saget, Sandra Bernhard, Andy Dick, Rain Pryor, Rick Overton, Paul Mooney, Bobby Slayton, Jim Jefferies, Patrice O'Neal, Andy Kindler, Dana Gould, Brendon Burns, Larry Miller and Reginald D. Hunter. There will also be some fresh faces who may become the comic legends of tomorrow.
Filmed in a front of a small live audience, each episode features a handful of the comedy geniuses mentioned above in a spontaneous, uncensored format. They will share personal anecdotes, intimate thoughts and spur-of-the-moment, no-holds-barred comedy.
