With linear premieres set for Easter, Showtime is giving rise to a host of sampling opportunities via diverse platforms for a trio of returning original series.
Viewers around the country now can screen the premiere installments of the fourth run of Nurse Jackie, the third campaign of The Big C and the sophomore season of The Borgias.
The premiere episodes can be accessed on the Showtime website www.sho.com/preview, on YouTube www.youtube.com/SHOWTIME, and via select television providers' free on demand channels and websites, reaching over 40 million digital households across 26 distributors.
Moreover, the premium programmer is making the series premieres available on the Showtime Anytime, Showtime apps on iPhone, iPod Touch, Android smartphones and tablets, and Nook tablets, as well as the Showtime social app for iPad, on connected TV platforms, major web portals, and for download as a free video podcast on iTunes.
On a linear basis, Edie Falco's Emmy-winning turn as the strong-willed and drug-addled emergency room nurse Jackie Peyton in Nurse Jackie re-emerges on April 8 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). That will be followed by Laura Linney's Golden Globe- winning and Oscar-nominated portrayal of Cathy Jamison in The Big C at 9:30 p.m. A return to the papal improprieties of the Renaissance, courtesy of Jeremy Irons' Golden Globe-nominated embodiment of Rodrigo Borgias ends the original debuts with The Borgias at 10 p.m.
The first three episodes of all three series will be made available on Showtime On Demand and Showtime Anytime the day after their series premieres.
