John Shelton joined DirecTV Inc. as senior vice president, sales and distribution.
Shelton had been north-region VP at Nextel Communications Inc.
At the direct-broadcast satellite provider, he will be responsible for the management of the distribution network and the development of sales programs for DirecTV’s independent dealer network, consumer-electronics retailers, the commercial and multiple-dwelling-unit segments and special markets.
Shelton reports to president of DirecTV sales and service John Suranyi.
