Senate Schedules 5G Hearing

The Senate Judiciary Committee is getting on the 5G bandwagon.

The committee has scheduled a hearing for May 14 on "5G: National Security Concerns, Intellectual Property Issues, and the Impact on Competition and Innovation."

The committee is chaired by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

The Trump Administration has said that winning the race to 5G--China is the closest competitor--is a priority. The FCC is holding a series of auctions to free up more spectrum for 5G, in part to boost competition to wired broadband.
