Canadian MSO Rogers Cable Inc. and Yahoo! Inc. teamed up to offer a high-speed-data service.
The two companies debuted “Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet” (rogers.yahoo.com) Tuesday.
The service is currently available to all of the operator’s high-speed-data customers in Ontario and New Brunswick, and it will be offered in Newfoundland later this year, Rogers said.
Among services exclusive to Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet: “Rogers Yahoo! Mail,” which includes electronic-mail anti-virus software “SpamGuard Plus” and 2 gigabytes of storage; “Rogers Yahoo! Photos,” which offers unlimited storage; “Rogers Yahoo! Messenger” instant messaging; music from LAUNCHcast Plus; and Rogers Yahoo! Games.
“By working with Yahoo!, we have created a new integrated broadband experience attuned to the needs of customers," Rogers vice president of strategy and development Michael Lee said in a prepared statement.
“We developed Rogers Yahoo! Hi-Speed Internet to bring together the services our customers say matter most to them, allowing them to take advantage of high-speed Internet access in a way that is relevant to their lives today,” he added.
