Roberts Takes Comcast Chairman Post

Comcast Corp. president and CEO Brian Roberts has added the chairman title following the early retirement of nonexecutive chairman C. Michael Armstrong, the MSO announced at its annual meeting at Philadelphia’s Wachovia Center Wednesday.

Armstrong became chairman after Comcast acquired AT&T Broadband in November 2002.

All of the company’s board members were also re-elected, Comcast said.

“Comcast is well-positioned for the future with an unparalleled distribution platform, a strong balance sheet and bright growth opportunities,” Roberts said in a prepared statement. “Today's shareholder vote is a gratifying confirmation of our strategy for future growth. I have never been more excited about Comcast's business and prospects.”
