RCN Knocks on Dorchester’s Door

RCN is expanding its coverage area to include Dorchester in Boston.

Dorchester joins other Boston neighborhoods Allston, Brighton, Hyde Park, Roslindale and West Roxbury currently receiving RCN service. RCN also announced that it is adding service to about another 700 residences in Roslindale.

Tuesday’s announcement came one day after the company announced that it would compete against Comcast in Milton, Mass.

Dorchester residents will be able to enjoy RCN's Internet service, programming and residential phone service beginning as early as this summer. RCN's triple-play bundle combines Internet, cable and phone services with the convenience of one bill and integrated customer service and technological support for all of its customers.

RCN Internet, cable and phone services will become available in phases throughout the neighborhood as installations are completed during the summer. The first homes will have services available starting July 1.
