Cablevision Systems Corp. wants its Optimum Voice voice-over-Internet-protocol subscribers to feel secure.
The MSO said Wednesday that its free whole-house-wiring option now includes connections to home-security systems, as well as central-station security and fire-monitoring facilities.
Those new features join enhanced 911, which was already included with Optimum Voice.
“This new enhanced whole-house-wiring option, offered as part of our free installation, builds upon a commitment to customer safety that includes E-911 access for every customer -- a clear differentiation from some of the VoIP and cellular alternatives,” Cablevision vice president of digital-voice management Joe Varello said in a prepared statement.
