Nick Premieres Three Kings Day-Themed 'Dora' Episode

Nickelodeon tonight will bow a new Dora the Explorer episode themed toward Three Kings Day.

The installment, premiering Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. on Nick, is this first-ever Three Kings Day-themed episode of Dora, in which preschoolers will learn about an important Hispanic cultural tradition as they help Dora find the animals that have run away with the presents and treats for the festival’s party. Three Kings Day also known as El Dia de los Reyes Magos, celebrates the coming of the three Magi to offer gifts to the newly born king

In “Dora Saves Three Kings Day,” Dora, Boots and Diego are at the latter’s rescue center dressed up as kings for the party at Dora’s house. They ride on a horse, camel and an elephant to carry the presents, treats and special Three Kings cake to the party. But Swiper accidentally scares the animals away. They then set out on an adventure to find the elephant at the five golden rings, the camel in the hot desert and the horse who is on his way to Dora’s house. Along the way they meet Dora’s friend Najim from Egypt and Nelly from Mexico, who help find the runaway animals.

In advance of the linear premiere, Nickelodeon has rolled out content from “Dora Three Kings” on Nick Jr. Video, with the broadband video service streaming two-minute sneak peeks and song clips; the full episode will screen on Nickjr.com, beginning on Jan. 7; and throughout January, a sneak peek, shorts and song clips from the episode, plus other Dora installments are available via Nickelodeon on Demand.
