Nick Buys GoCityKids

Nickelodeon said Thursday that it has acquired online city directory and resource GoCityKids (www.gocitykids.com).

The site allows parents to search for activities by their kids’ ages and activity preferences and informs them about of local events and attractions.

The five-year-old site offers information on top destinations for family travel including San Francisco; New York; Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Los Angeles; and Philadelphia, and Nick said it will expand from 14 to 20 cities by the end of the first quarter of 2006.

“GoCityKids is a passionate company created by parents for parents who tapped into the power of the Internet to create a wonderfully useful and time-saving service,” NickJr.com (www.nickjr.com) vice president and general manager Kyra Reppen said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to growing GoCityKids’ services by adding more cities and new features.”
