NIAF to Honor Mediacom’s Commisso
Rocco B. Commisso, founder, chairman and CEO of Mediacom Communications Corp., will receive the National Italian American Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award at the foundation’s annual East Coast Gala Tuesday, April 18.
The gala -- which benefits the NIAF scholarship and education programs -- will be held at The New York Marriott Marquis Hotel.
Commisso was also recently selected as an inductee to the Cable Television Pioneers organization.
A supporter of cable since his days as vice president for Chase Manhattan Bank, he now serves on the board of directors of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, Cable Television Laboratories Inc. and C-SPAN, and he is an honorary chair of Cable Positive, the cable industry’s AIDS-action organization.
