Next Up For 'Sunday Night Baseball': Shulman, Hershisher, Valentine

ESPN announced its new three-man Sunday Night Baseball booth team, and its two-man radio squad.

As expected on the small screen, Dan Shulman will be paired with analysts Orel Hershiser and Bobby Valentine, beginning with the 2011 Major League Baseball season,
Shulman, most recently the voice of ESPN's Monday Night Baseball, will serve as the play-by-play man, joined by the returning Hershiser and newcomer Bobby Valentine, the former big league manager, who will continue to work for the network's Baseball Tonight franchise as well.
Last season, Hershisher worked alongside the longtime SNF team of Jon Miller and Joe Morgan, whose contracts were not renewed.

"Dan has broad knowledge of the game, an ability to articulate baseball's analytics and a conversational tone which will bring out the best in our analysts," said Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president, production, in a statement. "Pairing him with Orel Hershiser, who made great contributions in the Sunday Night Baseball booth last season, and the unique opinions and fresh perspective of Bobby Valentine, will make for a dynamic Sunday night team."

For its part, ESPN Radio's SNF coverage will be helmed by play-by-play commentator Jon Sciambi, returning for his second season, and rookie analyst Chris Singleton. He joined ESPN in 2008, providing analysis on Baseball Tonight, before adding MNB responsibilities last season. Singleton contributed to ESPN Radio's MLB postseason coverage in 2008 and 2009, along with select regular-season games.
