Galaxy Cablevision veteran Larry Eby joined NewWave Communications as senior vice president of operations.
Both NewWave, run by brothers Jim and Tom Gleason, and Galaxy are headquartered in Sikeston, Mo.
Eby, former Galaxy president and CEO, said Tuesday that he joined NewWave because of its growth opportunities, including the launch of new services.
NewWave is acquiring 76,000 subscribers in Illinois and Kentucky from Charter Communications Inc. for roughly $126 million. The small operator currently has 17,000 subscribers.
Eby’s slot at Galaxy has been filled by Larry Martin, who had been senior accountant.
