The installation of Neural’s fraud-management solution, completed ahead of schedule, was the first for the DBS industry in North America.
“The installation of NT’s technology was remarkably smooth and ahead of schedule, which was a testament to the excellent working relationship between Neural Technologies and DirecTV’s IT [information-technology] department,” James Whalen, vice president of DirecTV’s Office of Signal Integrity, said in a prepared statement. “We were able to get an early and aggressive jump on our fraud-detection program and, with great results being delivered out of the gate, we are already scheduling expansion of the system.
Neural was selected by DirecTV early this year after it participated in a pilot study that demonstrated solid preliminary indications of successful fraud detection.
Neural is a United Kingdom-based company with a North American presence that has continued to grow since the opening of its U.S. office at the end of 2005, with customers such as GE Money, Sprint Nextel and Cingular AT&T.
