NESN National Rolls Into Midwest With Time Warner Cable Launches

NESN National continues to gain footholds around the nation, via a launch in 17 DMAs served by Time Warner Cable in six states.
Featuring programming centered around the Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox, but not the teams' live games, NESN National bowed on Time Warner Cable Midwest Region's Sports Pass package in Ohio, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin. Deal terms were not disclosed.
Combined with previous launches on Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks' sports tiers, NESN National is now available to more than 7 million cable homes in 13 states.
Time Warner Cable's Sports Pass subscribers are now able to watch encores and vintage Bruins contests, as well as the NHL team's and Red Sox pre- and post-game shows. Additionally, subscribers can check out NESN Daily, a live sports news and debate program; WEEI Sports Radio's Dennis and Callahan Morning Show; minor league baseball; college hockey and basketball; and many of the network's Original NESN Entertainment productions such as The Instigators, The Big, Bad Bruins Show, Pocket Money and After the Game.
Live game telecasts of the Red Sox and Bruins, Red Sox replays or classic games, and certain other programs are not available on NESN National due to league restrictions. When these programs are airing on NESN in New England, Time Warner Cable customers in the Midwest region see other NESN programming, including same-day replays of WEEI's Dennis and Callahan Morning Show.
"Time Warner Cable is continually looking to provide customers more programming options and the launch of NESN National on our Sports Pass channel lineup, along with other additions, highlights our commitment to improving our offerings," said Terry O'Connell, executive vice president, Time Warner Cable Midwest Region, in a statement. "The Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins are two of the best known brands in professional sports and sports fans are going to enjoy the coverage and shows built around those two teams as well as other programming on the network."
Noted NESN president and CEO Sean McGrail: "With the Bruins in first place in the Northeast Division and Red Sox Spring Training only a few weeks away, this is a great time for Time Warner Cable customers to check out NESN National. Thanks to great partners like Time Warner Cable, we continue to grow NESN National distribution and launch compelling new programming initiatives like WEEI's Dennis and Callahan Morning Show to offer fans of New England sports outside the region a great way to stay connected to their favorite teams."
