NDS Names North America Sales Exec

NDS announced Monday the appointment of Jesper Knutsson as vice president and general manager of sales for the Americas, following the recent departure of Dov Rubin, who joined an Israeli medical-devices company as CEO.

Knutsson, previously NDS’s vice president of interactive TV based in Denmark, will be responsible for the overall sales strategy for NDS in the U.S. and Canada.

Rubin, who co-founded NDS in 1988 and served as Americas general manager, was named CEO last week of Itamar Medical, which develops technology to diagnose sleep disorders and cardiovascular disease. An NDS spokeswoman said the company has not named a replacement for Rubin.

NDS’s customers in the U.S. include Cablevision Systems, Cox Communications and DirecTV.

“Jesper brings extensive knowledge of interactive television content, development and implementation to the U.S. market which is only just beginning to see the real promise of interactivity in pay-TV viewing,” NDS senior vice president and chief sales officer David Nabozny said in a statement.

Also Monday, the company announced it has promoted Caroline Le Bigot to senior vice president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Latin America and general manager for NDS France, and Sue Taylor to senior vice president and general manager for the Asia-Pacific region.
