Speed's coverage of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Speed came out of the gate fast last Friday night.
The Feb. 13 event, won by Todd Bodine, averaged a 1.90 household rating, 1.39 million households and 1.85 million watchers, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The rating represented an increase of 21% from last year's 1.57 mark, which translated into 1.13 million households. The cablecast peaked at a 2.28 (1.67 million households), up 29% from the 2008 race's top moment of 1.77 (1.27 million households).
In addition to the event, Speed's pre-race show, NCWTS Setup, hosted by Krista Voda, averaged a 0.8 (585,000 households), up 33% from last year's .0.6 mark (434,000 households).
"It was another fantastic race and a great way to start the 2009 season," said Speed president Hunter Nickell in a statement. "The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is loaded with great storylines and we're jacked up about how the audience continues to respond."
The next truck race is scheduled for Fox this Saturday at 3 p.m. (ET) from Auto Club Speedway in California. The series returns to its exclusive cable home March 7 at 1 p.m. from Atlanta Motor Speedway.
