MTVN Wraps Caballero Deal
MTV Networks said Wednesday that it has completed its purchase of Caballero Television Texas LLC.
The Viacom Inc. unit announced in October that it would acquire the group of stations in 10 markets throughout Texas and California.
MTVN said that in the short term, the stations would continue airing MásMúsica TeVe Network, which was also under the control of Caballero Television CEO Eduardo Caballero, with further plans to be announced later in the year.
MásMúsica TeVe was not included in the deal, MTVN added.
The Spanish-language network targets Hispanics 18-34 with music and entertainment programming, including a good portion of music videos. It incorporates popular Spanish music formats such as “Regional Mexican,” “Latin Pop,” “Tropical” and “Rock en Español.”
