MTV Networks and video-game publisher Nexon will team up to create a new premium user experience for MTVN's Neopets (www.neopets.com) under terms of a strategic partnership announced Thursday.
The new service will enhance the current Neopets world, known as Neopia, by giving users the ability to purchase premium-level virtual items for customization and personalization.
The programmer will also market Nexon's casual multimedia-online-game titles in North America via its television and online brands, kicking off with the gaming company’s “Maple Story” and “Kart Rider.”
“This partnership opens an important creative exchange for us with one of the leaders in online casual MMOGs in Asia and the world, and it is a significant move for us in our growth as a multiplatform global entertainment company," MTVN Kids and Family Group executive vice president of digital media Steve Youngwood said in a prepared statement.
