For its third season of MTV’s bisexual competition dating show, Internet pin-up queen Tila Tequila’s out and the Ikki Twins are in.
The network will give contestants and viewers A Double Shot of Love, when the show premieres Dec. 9 at 10 p.m. During the series, developed by 495 Productions, a group of suitors -- straight guys and lesbians -- pursue the affections of bisexual twins Vikki and Rikki, aka as the Ikki Twins. All living under one roof, the dozen guys and 12 women are narrowed down each week in an elimination ceremony.
The objects of their attention had their modeling careers begin to take off while attending San Diego State University, as they were featured on billboards and in numerous calendars and advertisements across the country. Their first big break came from a modeling gig for Bench Warmer Cards, which led to them landing on the covers of car enthusiast titles Import Turner and Fast & Sexy.
In 2005 the twins were asked to model for the Sexy Corvettes Calendar and heated up cities across the world on the Hot Import Night Tour. Subsequently, they were invited to compete in Steve Harvey’s Big Time Challenge, followed by a feature in Import Tuner’s ‘Sexiest Women Ever’ special collection issue, garnering them even more calendar and magazine covers.
The second season of A Shot at Love ranked first in its Tuesday 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. time slot among persons 12 to 34, versus all cable competition. All told, the show cumed 80 million total viewers, with over 37 million from the aforementioned demo, according to MTV officials.
