Verizon Communications won a video franchise for its FiOS TV service in the Rockland County, N.Y, village of Piermont and launched the service in parts of 12 communities in Mercer County, N.J., and Medfield and Wilmington, Mass.
In New York, Tuesday night’s vote by the Piermont Board of Trustees brought the total number of communities in the state that have authorized FiOS TV to 30.
In New Jersey, the state capital of Trenton was among the communities added to the telco’s FiOS TV list, which now totals 180 in the state.
And in Massachusetts, the launches in Medfield and Wilmington boosted Verizon’s total to 39 communities.
