More Cricket for Dish

EchoStar Communications Corp.’s Dish Network direct-broadcast satellite service reached its second cricket-carriage deal this month.

Global Cricket Corp. granted Dish the exclusive rights to distribute via TV, radio, broadband and Internet the International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup 2007 in Canada, Mexico, Central and South America and the Dutch Antilles.

As for the United States -- including Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands -- EchoStar secured nonexclusive TV rights and exclusive radio, broadband and Internet distribution.

Earlier this month, Dish acquired the exclusive radio, television, broadband and Internet distribution rights in North America, including Caribbean nations, for all Board of Cricket Control India events taking place in India through 2010.
