Mobile and broadband television and music company MobiTV appointed Simon Bax to its board of directors.
A 20-year industry veteran, Bax has held positions at Pixar Animation Studios and Fox Filmed Entertainment, among others.
“Simon’s outstanding reputation, deep understanding of finance and technology and impressive leadership experience from companies such as Pixar will be a tremendous asset to our team and the long-term goals of MobiTV,” CEO and cofounder Phillip Alvelda said.
Most recently, Bax was executive vice president and chief financial officer at Pixar. As a member of the executive team, reporting to CEO Steve Jobs, he was responsible for finance, administration and investor relations and oversaw marketing, distribution and consumer products.
From 2002-06, Bax was chairman of SmartJog, a technology startup purchased by TDF in August 2006. Prior to SmartJog, he served as chief financial officer and president of studio operations for Fox Filmed Entertainment for eight years. Bax joined Fox from ad agency TBWA/Chiat/Day, where he was CFO.
