Merritt Helms Biz Services For Comcast’s Mountain Region

Comcast Business has hired Paul Merritt as director of the unit’s Mountain Region, where he will head up the MSO’s portfolio of services for small- and mid-sized businesses, including Comcast's growing Metro Ethernet platform.

Merritt joins Comcast with more than 10 years of exec leadership and direct and channel sales, most recently as regional director of channel sales at Integra Telecom. Before that he was VP of sales at Redapt, director of sales at Qwest Communications (now part of CenturyLink Communications), and VP at XO Communications.

"Comcast continues to build its reputation across the country for providing reliable, scalable communications solutions that businesses need to improve their operations and the satisfaction of their own customers," said Jeff Allen, vice president of Comcast Business, in a statement. "Much of that hinges on the strong leadership team that we have put in place in each of our regions. Paul has a proven track record of leading successful teams across a number of vertical markets. With his vision and years of practical experience, he will build on the success we have already seen in Utah and its surrounding areas, setting the stage for even more growth in the future.”

Comcast raked in $836 million in business services revenues in the third quarter of 2013, putting it on pace for an annual run rate of $3.3 billion.
