Mediacom Dances With Hulu

Mediacom Communications will add free, ad-supported Hulu content to Mediacomtoday.com, its broadband customer portal, starting later this month.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hulu, whose owners include Walt Disney Co., NBCUniversal and News Corp., provides free TV episodes from networks including ABC, NBC, Fox, AMC, Bravo, Comedy Central, Food Network, FX, HGTV, National Geographic, Oxygen and Syfy.

During October 2011, Hulu was the tenth-biggest online video destination in the U.S. by unique viewers, with 29.2 million, according to measurement firm comScore. Hulu delivered 1.36 billion ad impressions in the month -- more than any other ad network -- representing 18% share of all online-video ads, according to comScore.

Middletown, N.Y.-based Mediacom is the nation's eighth-largest cable company, with about 1.1 million video subscribers.
